Thanks to a Wildlife Rich Habitat grant from DEFRA we plan to begin the restoration of Gun Moor, delivering an important step forward for nature recovery in the Peak District. Gun Moor is a 81ha upland mix of habitats on the western edge of the Peak District National Park. This project focusses on a series of grip and surface drainage channel blocking on areas of deep peat with the aim of re-wetting the peatland. This cooperative agreement is intended to enhance the capacity and capabilities of state human and animal food testing laboratories in support of an integrated food safety system (IFSS).
