Terms of Service
Last updated 29 July 2026.
These terms govern your use of GrantsFeed — the website, the free email alerts, and the licensed data API. GrantsFeed is operated by Tesserra (“we”, “us”). By using the site or an API key you accept these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
What GrantsFeed is
We aggregate funding opportunities that governments and intergovernmental bodies publish openly, normalise them into one schema, and make them searchable. We are independent and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any funding body. We do not administer funding, influence any award decision, or submit applications on your behalf.
The most important term: what we license
We license access and delivery — the aggregation, normalisation, hosting, and API — not the underlying data. The records themselves remain under each originating body's own licence, and those licences pass through to you unchanged. Paying us does not enlarge the rights you already have in the source data, and it does not shrink the obligations that come with them.
Most of our sources publish under Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0 and CC BY 3.0 AU) or the UK Open Government Licence v3.0. Those licences permit commercial reuse but require attribution to travel with the data. So:
- Every JSON response carries a
licenseblock, and every response — JSON and CSV — carriesx-data-attributionandx-data-modifiedheaders naming the sources and their terms. - You must reproduce those attributions wherever you redistribute, publish, or display the data, including inside your own product. This is an obligation you owe the upstream publishers directly; we can pass it on but we cannot waive it for you.
- You must not represent the data as originating from GrantsFeed, or imply that any funding body endorses you or us.
We cannot sublicense CC BY material, so no plan we sell — the Embedded tier included — grants a redistribution licence beyond what the upstream licence already gives you. Anyone offering you one is selling something they do not own. The full per-source licence list is on our data sources page.
We modify the records, and CC BY obliges us to say so: fields are normalised into a common schema, records are de-duplicated across sources, and amounts are converted to USD. Values may therefore differ from the original notice. The original is always authoritative.
Free use of the site
Browsing, searching, the RSS and JSON feeds, and the email alerts are free. The public aggregate endpoint /api/stats is offered under CC BY 4.0 — cite it freely with a link. You may not scrape the site at a volume that degrades it for others; the API exists precisely so you do not have to.
API keys, trials, and billing
- Trials run 14 days and need no card. The clock starts on the first request you make with the key, not on the day we issue it — so an unused key does not expire while you wait to get to it.
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance by invoice (PayPal or Wise). Annual billing, at two months free, is available on request. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax you may owe in your own jurisdiction.
- Cancel any time by emailing us before the next invoice date. Cancellation stops future invoices; we do not pro-rate part-months, and fees already paid are not refundable except where the law requires it.
- Keys are issued to one customer and must be kept secret. You are responsible for use made through your key. Tell us immediately if it leaks and we will rotate it. Seat and rate limits are those stated on the Data & API page for your plan.
- We may revoke a key for non-payment, for sharing or resale of access, or for use that threatens the service. We will contact you first unless the service is actively at risk.
- We may change prices with 30 days' notice, effective at your next renewal.
Accuracy — please read this one
The data is provided “as is” and we do not warrant that it is accurate, complete, or current. We aggregate from third-party feeds we do not control. Those feeds change format, go down, lag, and occasionally publish errors. Deadlines get extended and withdrawn; amounts get restated; opportunities are sometimes cancelled without a corresponding update reaching any feed.
Always verify against the official source notice before you rely on anything — certainly before you spend money or staff time on a bid. Every record links to its origin for exactly this reason. Nothing here is legal, financial, or professional advice, and we do not promise you will win, or even be eligible for, any opportunity you find through us. How we collect and quality-check is documented on our methodology page.
We aim to keep the service available and to refresh daily, but we do not offer an uptime guarantee, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, revenue, funding, or opportunity, or for a bid that was missed, mispriced, or unsuccessful. Our total liability is capped at the fees you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim — and if you use GrantsFeed for free, that cap is zero. This is the trade the price reflects: the data is open and free at source, and we charge for delivery, not for a guarantee about someone else's publishing.
Your content and conduct
When you submit an email address, a note on an enquiry form, or a correction, you confirm it is yours to send and does not infringe anyone's rights. Do not use GrantsFeed to break the law, to send unsolicited mail to contacts found through it, or to interfere with the service or its security.
Privacy
What we collect and why is set out in full on our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Changes, termination, and law
We may update these terms; the “last updated” date above will change and, for anything that materially affects paying customers, we will email you before it takes effect. Either of us may end a paid arrangement as described under billing above. The accuracy, liability, and licensing sections survive termination.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stands.
