TenderCloses 2026-11-16LTUHealthNeutral-Atom Platform Technologies
→Expected Outcome: This action aims to establish European leadership in neutral-atom quantum simulation and digital quantum computing by delivering: Fully programmable industry-ready quantum simulators based on 10.000 neutral atoms in a scalable architecture, accessible via cloud platforms, and with the possibility of integrating them into high-performance computing environments. Fully programmable platform for neutral-atom quantum computing capable of both analogue quantum operations and gate-based computing with 1.000 physical qubits and a clear path to further scalability to 10.000 physical qubits. Coherence time of the order of hundreds of interaction times and infidelity of operations below 1%. Demonstration of quantum simulation and/or computing operating beyond classical computability, validated through benchmarking with classical methods. New real-world applications across science and industry (at least two) (e.g: in the energy and health sectors) The software stack for these applications, including enhanced software for verification, algorithm implementation, and user programming interfaces. Grant$22.4MCloses 2026-11-17EUHealthNational Center for Construction Safety and Health Research and Translation (U54)
→NIOSH is encouraging the submission of an application from qualified organizations for a National Center for Construction Safety and Health Research and Translation. Applicants are encouraged to propose multidisciplinary approaches and coordination for impactful applied and intervention research, hazard identification, and controls; develop partnerships for implementing prevention and intervention activities; and serve as a leader in research translation and research-to-practice for the protection of construction workers in the U.S. The Center will accomplish these goals by integrating and advancing research, research translation, best practices, policy and guidance, and capacity building. Center work should consider the NIOSH strategic plan and NORA construction research objectives. Center structure should take advantage of diverse scientific resources and focus on national worker safety and health issues. Centers should emphasize the creation and implementation of evidence-based solutions that address important construction industry safety and health problems. Collaborations with other academic institutions, nonprofit organizations, and other occupational safety and health-focused groups are expected. Applicants must concisely describe the occupational health burden of important safety and health issues in the construction industry and discuss how focused research and outreach activities will help alleviate the burden and reduce numbers. Applicants should also clearly articulate the anticipated impacts of the Center’s proposed work, both during the project period and beyond.

Swanley Park Footpath Refurbishment
→Swanley Town Council is seeking suitably qualified and experienced contractors to undertake the excavation, removal, reconstruction and improvement of two existing footpaths. The project aims to improve accessibility, durability and the overall quality of the footpath network through the installation of wider, fit-for-purpose pathways that meet the requirements of their intended use. The works will comprise the following: Footpath One Footpath One extends approximately 355.4 linear metres and will broadly follow the alignment of the existing footpath. The pathway will be widened to provide a finished width of approximately 2.5 metres, excluding edging. The construction must be suitable for occasional vehicular access, with the appropriate sub-base and construction specification provided to accommodate this requirement. Footpath Two Footpath Two currently measures approximately 29 linear metres and will be extended to approximately 62.3 linear metres. The completed pathway will provide a finished width of approximately 2 metres, excluding edging, improving the provision and usability of the route. Surfacing Options and Construction Requirements The Council is currently exploring a range of surfacing options for the proposed footpaths, including self-binding gravel, tarmac and block paving. Contractors may be required to consider the suitability, durability, maintenance requirements, accessibility and whole-life costs associated with these options to help inform the Council's final decision on the preferred surfacing materials. The appointed contractor will be expected to undertake the necessary excavation and removal of existing footpath materials, prepare the underlying formation, install an appropriate sub-base and construct the new footpaths in accordance with the agreed specification. The works will also include suitable edging, finishing details and any associated reinstatement required to leave the completed pathways in a safe, stable and serviceable condition. All works must be carried out to an appropriate professional standard, with due consideration given to site conditions, public safety, drainage, accessibility and the long-term performance of the finished surfaces. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring that the construction methods and materials used are suitable for the intended use of each footpath. The Council is seeking a cost-effective and durable solution that provides improved pedestrian routes, meets the operational requirements of the site and offers good long-term value for money.
