The primary objective of the project is to re-establish the commercial operations of the fire damaged parts of the Barrow Centre whilst giving due consideration to its surroundings, heritage and constraints. The Barrow Centre comprises the historic service yard and associated buildings for the Mount Edgcumbe Estate, now utilised as a visitors centre for the modern park and gardens. The central U-shaped stable block consists of a two and three storey mixed-use building containing a cafe, shops, workers flats and 2 holiday lets. The fire damaged section of the property forming the focus of this project consists of the split level northern wing containing 2 holiday cottages, Yew Tree Cottage and Horseshoe Cottage, and 2 workers flats, numbers 3 and 6 which in total provided 8 no. bedrooms. The Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park is jointly owned by Cornwall Council (CC) and Plymouth City Council (PCC). PCC are the insurance policyholders for the Park and remain the beneficiaries for any sums paid out under the insurance claim. An agreement between PCC and CC is that CC will progress the refurbishment works

High level summary of the project includes: Undertaken roof repair as there are leaks throughout. Installation of roof insulation and suspended ceiling. Upgrade of all glazing and doors (including fire doors). Strip out of existing M&E services/plant. Installation of VRV/VRF system and ASHP. Upgrade of all lighting and ensuring complete electrical installation is ATEX/DSEAR compliant. Note, a Stage 3 design and report will be provided and we would expect a stage 4 design/report before we progress with the build stage.

Concrete & Polymer Reinforced Crib Walls - Design, Supply & Install We are inviting expressions of interest from experienced suppliers to undertake the design, manufacture, supply and installation of concrete and/or polymer reinforced crib wall retaining structures as part of the Lower Thames Crossing Roads North programme. The package comprises approximately 3.5km of crib wall retaining structures across multiple locations. Suppliers will support the development of practical, buildable and cost-effective solutions that integrate with the wider scheme design. Package Scope The package includes: Design and design checking of crib wall systems. Support to Approval in Principle (AiP) and design development. Internal stability assessments and coordination with project stakeholders. Manufacture and supply of crib wall components. BIM and/or 3D modelling where applicable. Temporary works design and management. Delivery and installation of crib wall systems. Coordination of drainage, foundation and geotechnical interfaces.
