The goal of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to advance promising chemical technologies that utilize alternative feedstocks through multiple levels of maturity and, in some cases, to pre-pilot scale. To accomplish this, the NOFO is divided into two topic areas, each divided into two subtopic areas designed to provide different on-ramps for technologies at different stages of development. Topic Area 1 supports the progression of technologies in the R&D phase. Subtopic Area 1a supports advancing early-stage research to bench scale. Scope: Low-temperature district heating systems in urban areas offer higher potential for integration of renewable energy sources and waste heat, but their deployment is slowed down because the existing stock of inefficient buildings has been designed for high-temperature heat delivery systems. The topic supports the creation of the conditions necessary for the conversion of existing supply solutions – district heating, as well as individual heating ones – into low-temperature alternatives, along with reducing and optimising the heat load of buildings. The Great British Energy (GBE) Supply Chain Fund: Offshore Wind and Networks will award up to £300 million in capital grant funding to build UK manufacturing capacity for key constrained components in offshore wind and enabling electricity networks sectors. The Depot Charging Scheme supports uptake of zero-emission HGVs, vans and coaches by part-funding the installation of charging infrastructure at fleet depots. The first application window ran from 25 March 2026 to 30 June 2026, and will fund 70% of charge point and civil costs, up to £1 million across all sites. The next window is expected to open from 28 October 2026 to 29 January 2027 for projects which may begin from April 2027 and must be delivered by 31 March 2028. Terms and grant rates for this phase are still to be confirmed.
