FY 2026 Notice of Funding Opportunity: Innovative Coordinated Access and Mobility Pilot Program

The intent of the PROTECT Competitive Grant Program is to fund projects to improve the resilience of the surface transportation system, including highways, public transportation, ports, and intercity passenger rail. Program goals include protecting: surface transportation assets by making them more resilient; communities through resilience improvements and strategies that allow for the continued operation or rapid recovery of surface transportation systems; coastal infrastructure; and natural infrastructure that protects and enhances surface transportation assets. This NOFO provides PROTECT Competitive Grant Program funding of up to $787 million from FYs 2024 through 2026, plus any remaining PROTECT Competitive Grant Program funding from prior years. The Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) is a Federal formula grant program that provides financial assistance to States, and U.S. Territories to reduce the number and severity of crashes, injuries, and fatalities and hazardous material incidents involving commercial motor vehicles.

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the opportunity to apply for competitive awards totaling up to $10 million in Public Transportation Innovation Program (49 U.S.C. 5312) funds for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Bus Safety, Accessibility, and Innovation Research Program under Assistance Listing Number 20.530. As required by Federal public transportation law, funds will be awarded competitively to up to two projects to develop and prototype innovative and widely deployable concepts that are intended to make existing and new buses safer for their operators and vulnerable road users, and safer and more accessible for their passengers. 

The purpose of the ADCMS Competitive Grant Program is to provide incentives for eligible applicants to promote, implement, deploy, demonstrate, showcase, support, and document the application of new technology in construction projects at a program level. Eligible applicants under the ADCMS Competitive Grant Program are State Departments of Transportation (State DOT), including the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. State DOTs are permitted to submit joint applications with other State DOTs and non-State DOTs, including local governments, Tribes, and private industry. For projects involving partnerships, FHWA expects one State DOT to serve as the lead entity and to be the grant recipient. The ADCMS Competitive Grant Program requires a minimum cost share of 20 percent of total project costs. The purpose of the Bollards Competitive Grant Program is to provide funding for bollard installation projects designed to prevent pedestrian injuries and acts of terrorism in areas used by large numbers of pedestrians. Eligible applicants under the Bollards Competitive Grant Program are State Departments of Transportation (State DOTs) and local government entities such as any city, county, town, parish, village, or other general-purpose political subdivision of a State). The FAA hereby announces its continuing interest in receiving applications for aviation research grants and cooperative agreements to pursue the long-term growth and short-term technical needs of civil aviation, under this funding opportunity. Eligibility of applicants for the award of an aviation research grant varies depending on the nature of the proposer's organization, as well as the character of the research being proposed. In general, colleges, universities, and other non- profit research institutions under Section 501(c)(3) of Title 26 of United States Code, are eligible to apply for an aviation research grant.   The FAA Aviation Research Grants Program encourages and supports innovative, advanced research of potential benefit to the long-term growth of civil aviation and commercial space transportation.
