The scope of works comprises the provision of all necessary management, supervision, labour, cleaning materials, consumables, plant and equipment required to undertake cleaning services at the Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) Kent Roads offices in Gravesend. The works will include maintaining the office accommodation, welfare facilities, kitchens, toilets, communal areas and associated spaces to a consistently high standard of cleanliness and hygiene, in accordance with the project requirements, agreed cleaning schedules and all relevant health and safety legislation. The subcontractor will be responsible for providing suitably trained and competent personnel, together with appropriate supervision, to ensure the services are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard. All cleaning products, materials and equipment must be suitable for their intended use and compliant with relevant COSHH requirements. All operatives undertaking the works must hold a valid CSCS card and Highways Passports. The Lower Thames Crossing is a new road that will improve connections between Essex and Kent through a tunnel beneath the River Thames. UKAEA, under the RAICo Programme, wishes to investigate the operational benefits of autonomous robotic perimeter patrolling to improve situational awareness and reduce the need for routine personnel patrolling. The requirements relate to deployment and demonstration of a Proof of Concept for Autonomous Perimeter Patrolling using Spot from Boston Dynamics. The objective is to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of robotic autonomy in supporting the protection and monitoring of UKAEA's site, including critical infrastructure assets. The purpose of this procurement is to appoint a Contractor to design, configure, deploy and demonstrate a proof-of-concept solution. Established by Congress in fiscal year (FY) 1997, the Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) Land Acquisition Grant program was designed to reduce conflicts between the conservation of listed species and competing land uses on specific parcels of land associated with approved and permitted HCPs. Under this program, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) provides matching grants to State agencies in support of land acquisition projects that will conserve species habitat in perpetuity through fee simple acquisition or the acquisition of permanent conservation easements. FWS considers the use of Federal acquisition dollars by States for habitat protection associated with HCPs to be an important and effective mechanism to promote species recovery, prevent extinction, and preclude the need to list species under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) in the future. All land acquired through these grants complements, but does not replace, the mitigation, minimization, and/or monitoring commitments of the HCP. Thus, this work is additive to the conservation commitments entered into when HCPs are permitted and serves as a meaningful way to leverage non-Federal investment in species recovery and connect conservation lands across the landscape.
