GB-York: Sports Campus Padel Canopy Installation
With the recent addition of an outdoor Padel facility, and plans to expand, the University is now seeking to contract for the supply and installation of a canopy to protect the facility and decrease weather‐related shutdowns. York St John intends that the facility remains operational for as much of the construction period as is reasonably practicable. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.

The primary objective of the project is to re-establish the commercial operations of the fire damaged parts of the Barrow Centre whilst giving due consideration to its surroundings, heritage and constraints. The Barrow Centre comprises the historic service yard and associated buildings for the Mount Edgcumbe Estate, now utilised as a visitors centre for the modern park and gardens. The central U-shaped stable block consists of a two and three storey mixed-use building containing a cafe, shops, workers flats and 2 holiday lets. The fire damaged section of the property forming the focus of this project consists of the split level northern wing containing 2 holiday cottages, Yew Tree Cottage and Horseshoe Cottage, and 2 workers flats, numbers 3 and 6 which in total provided 8 no. bedrooms. The Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park is jointly owned by Cornwall Council (CC) and Plymouth City Council (PCC). PCC are the insurance policyholders for the Park and remain the beneficiaries for any sums paid out under the insurance claim. →The planned introduction of longer train services to the Airport in response to future demand growth will mean that double stacking arrangements of trains as currently used will no longer be viable. The scheme is part of a package of proposed measures in the Manchester area that are being designed/planned to boost capacity and resilience, emanating from the Cross Manchester Capacity and Reliability Improvement Study. Improving the operation of train services in the centre of Manchester and providing further capacity at Manchester Airport station, aligns with the strategic aims of Network Rail, TfGM, TfN and the wider industry. This project in in Tranche 1 of the Manchester and North West Transformation Programme (MNTP): A remodelling of the station at Manchester Airport, specifically a platform addition or extension of multiple platforms, or provision of a new turnback facility, will be essential to accommodate the planned implementation of longer rolling stock services. The redevelopment of these platforms will enable permissive working of two 6x24m (144m) trains, in two of the four platforms at the Airport Station. This will allow for the unaltered retention of all existing TOC services both originating and terminating at the Airport Station under 'double-stacking' conditions.
