The NPRC will serve as the nation"s go‐to source for trusted information, real‐time help, community capacity‐building, and peer support and community-based resources that promote independence and participation. The NPRC will advance independence, informed choice, and full participation in community life for individuals living with paralysis. The NPRC will improve the health and quality of life of people living with paralysis by reducing environmental, social, and systemic barriers to health and community living. The program will also strengthen community capacity through competitive subawards and tracks progress through performance measures and a public dashboard.

Cooperative agreements under the Alzheimer"s Disease Programs Initiative (ADPI)- State Programs for Dementia-Specific Respite Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to expand and strengthen additional supports for family caregivers by providing dementia-specific respite services delivered through the National Aging Services Network (State Units on Aging (SUA), Area Agencies on Aging (AAA), and aging network service providers). The program is designed to provide respite relief in support of unpaid family caregivers of people with a probable diagnosis of Alzheimer"s disease or related dementia (ADRD) who need access or additional access to respite care or related services. The primary goal is to reduce caregiver burden and delay institutionalization of people with a probable diagnosis of ADRD through the availability and delivery of dementia-specific respite services. Through this demonstration grant opportunity, states will partner with Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) to coordinate and provide respite services for caregivers with a focus on dementia-specific respite services comparable to existing services provided under the Older Americans Act (OAA). Grant funds will be awarded to SUAs, which will distribute the funds to AAAs to carry out program implementation.Dementia-specific respite services will be made available to eligible unpaid family caregivers of people with a probable diagnosis of ADRD, as well as those under age 60 with younger-onset dementia of any age who would otherwise meet eligibility requirements under OAA funded programs. Participating SUAs will establish and define the terms and conditions governing the implementation of their dementia-specific respite program. Successful applications will include an independent third-party evaluation to assess and document the program"s impact on participating, community-residing unpaid family caregivers and individuals living with dementia.

The purpose of this Notice of Funding Opportunity is to support one organization through a cooperative agreement to serve as the National Falls Prevention Resource Center. This center will act as a central connector to the aging network for the discretionary and formula funded Falls Prevention grants. It will offer individualized and tiered technical assistance, high-quality education, and a wide range of resources to increase the number of older adults and adults with disabilities who participate in evidence based Falls Prevention Programs. The Resource Center will help the network provide cost-effective services that align with the purposes of the Older Americans Act, Title III-D. They will promote the advancement of the Falls Prevention network through building partnerships, supporting data collection, reporting metrics, highlighting key achievements, and engaging stakeholders to encourage long-term sustainability of the programs.

This grant is funded under the Projects of National Significance (PNS) authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act. Its purpose is to increase awareness, access, and use of ABLE (Achieving a Better Life Experience) accounts so that individuals with disabilities have the resources needed to better support their health and economic well-being and improve their economic security and mobility. Since 2015, the ABLE Act has authorized states and territories to establish tax-advantaged programs—ABLE accounts—that allow individuals with disabilities to save and invest money. These accounts may be used for qualified disability expenses, including education, food, housing, transportation, employment training, assistive technology, and health care. Beginning in January 2026, ABLE eligibility requirements were expanded to include individuals with an age of disability onset up to 46, increased from the previous limit of 26. As a result, an estimated 14 million people will be eligible for ABLE accounts, including approximately 1.2 million veterans. This expansion presents a significant opportunity to broaden outreach to individuals receiving Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), as well as individuals with disabilities who are not enrolled in disability benefit programs, to help overcome barriers to achieving good health and meaningful employment. To advance these goals, the grant will support strategies such as coordinated marketing efforts at the national, state, and community levels; population-specific approaches implemented through partnerships with ACL grantees and community stakeholders; and a strengthened systems approach at the state level. ACL recognizes that ABLE-related supports can play a critical role in increasing economic security and mobility for individuals with disabilities.

Under this particular DRRP priority, the grantee must conduct research toward resilience and positive mental health outcomes among people with spinal cord injury. This grant will have a 36-month project period, with three 12-month budget periods.

The purpose of NIDILRR's Disability and Rehabilitation Research Project (DRRP) grants is to improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act by generating knowledge or developing methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technologies that advance a wide range of independent living and employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities, especially those with the greatest support needs. Under this particular opportunity, a DRRP must conduct knowledge translation and related activities in collaboration with the Burn Model System, Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Model System, and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Model System grantees. Specifically, the MSKTC will be required to collaborate with the model system centers to produce and promote systematic reviews of existing research and information products for SCI, TBI, and Burn; identify and implement effective strategies for disseminating SCI, TBI, and Burn Model System programs" research findings; serve as the central resource for the Model System programs' knowledge and product dissemination; and provide training and technical assistance in knowledge translation for the Model System grantees. This grant will have a 60-month project period, with five 12-month budget periods.

Under this particular DRRP priority, applicants must propose to conduct research toward positive employment outcomes among people who are deaf or hard of hearing. This grant will have a 36-month project period, with three 12-month budget periods.

The purpose of the RRTCs is to achieve the goals of, and improve the effectiveness of, services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act through well-designed research, training, technical assistance, and dissemination activities in important topical areas as specified by NIDILRR. This particular opportunity is for an RRTC is to generate new knowledge about effective employer practices that support successful employment outcomes among people with disabilities. NIDILRR plans to make one grant under this opportunity. The grant will have a 60-month project period, with five 12-month budget periods.

The purpose of the RRTCs is to achieve the goals of, and improve the effectiveness of, services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act through well-designed research, training, technical assistance, and dissemination activities in important topical areas as specified by NIDILRR. This particular opportunity is for an RRTC to conduct research toward evidence-based services, supports, or interventions to promote community living outcomes among people with disabilities. NIDILRR plans to make one grant under this opportunity. The grant will have a 60-month project period, with five 12-month budget periods.

The purpose of NIDILRR's Disability and Rehabilitation Research Project (DRRP) grants is to improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act by generating knowledge or developing methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technologies that advance a wide range of independent living and employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities, especially those with the greatest support needs. This Center will advance medical rehabilitation by increasing the rigor and efficiency of scientific efforts to longitudinally assess the experiences and outcomes of individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI). This Center must maintain the national longitudinal database for data submitted by each of the TBI Model Systems Centers. This Center must also ensure collection of high quality data, and support rigorous research by the Model Systems centers by monitoring data quality, providing training in the collection of TBI Model Systems data, providing methodological consultation to these centers, and other collaborative tasks. The grant will have a 60-month project period, with five 12-month budget periods.

Under this particular DRRP priority, applicants must propose a research project that is aimed at improving community living and participation outcomes among people with disabilities. In carrying out a research project under this program, a grantee must identify one or more hypotheses or research questions and, based on the hypotheses or research questions identified, perform an intensive, systematic study directed toward producing (1) new or full scientific knowledge or (2) understanding of the subject or problem studied. NIDILRR's field-initiated DRRP awards in the community living and participation domain will be (1) research projects, (2) development projects, or (3) a combination of research and development projects, depending on the ranking of applications provided by the peer review panel. The grants will have a 36-month project period, with three 12-month budget periods.

The SCIMS program is designed to provide research-based knowledge to support a multidisciplinary system of rehabilitation care for people with spinal cord injury (SCI). For purposes of this program, SCI is defined as a clinically discernible degree of neurologic impairment of the spinal cord. SCIMS Centers must conduct site-specific and collaborative research. SCIMS Centers must also collect and contribute data to the SCIMS longitudinal database. SCIMS Centers will be funded at varying amounts up to the maximum award based on the numbers of database participants eligible for follow-up in the SCIMS longitudinal database. Existing centers with significantly larger numbers of database participants will receive higher funding within the specified range, as determined by NIDILRR after the applicants are selected for funding. The grant will have a 60-month project period, with five 12-month budget periods.

The purpose of NIDILRR's Disability and Rehabilitation Research Project (DRRP) grants is to improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act by generating knowledge or developing methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technologies that advance a wide range of independent living and employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities, especially those with the greatest support needs. To carry out Older Americans Act Section 307(a)(11), and 45 C.F.R. 1321.93 and 1324.303, ACL plans to fund approximately five (5) cooperative agreements to expand or improve the delivery of legal services to older adults through public-private partnerships at the state and local levels. Enhancements made through this funding opportunity will support measurable and sustainable improvements to the delivery of a full range of legal assistance to older adults, from legal advice to full representation.

The purpose of this Notice of Funding Opportunity is to award cooperative agreements to entities that will focus on specific targeted partnerships and additional innovative strategies as they relate to implementing evidence-based falls prevention programs for older adults and adults with disabilities in the community. Initiatives will enhance the services to quality, effectiveness, and proven outcomes of falls prevention activities for older adults and adults with disabilities centered on the whole person. Efforts will include ensuring collaboration with partners, creating and disseminating resources and education, and capturing best practices and learning. Additionally, the entities will design an evaluation to assess the impact of efforts on reducing falls and/or the risk of falls.

Under this particular DRRP priority, applicants must propose a development project that is aimed at improving community living and participation outcomes of individuals with disabilities. In carrying out a development project under this program, a grantee must use knowledge and understanding gained from research to create models, methods, tools, applications, and devices beneficial to the target population, including design and development of protypes and processes. NIDILRR's field-initiated DRRP awards in the community living and participation domain will be (1) research projects, (2) development projects, or (3) a combination of research and development projects, depending on the ranking of applications provided by the peer review panel. The grants will have a 36-month project period, with three 12-month budget periods.

ACL plans to compete a new cooperative agreement for one (1) award to operate the National Long-Term Care Ombudsman Resource Center (NORC). The purpose of NORC is to provide support, technical assistance, and training to the 53 State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Programs and their statewide networks to enhance the skills, knowledge, and management capacity of the State Ombudsman programs. As a result of this grant, ACL expects state Ombudsman will improve their skills and ability to effectively advocate for residents in long-term care facilities.

To carry out Section 216 of the Older Americans Act, ACL will award one cooperative agreement to administer the National Resource Center on Women and Retirement (NRCWR). The goal of NRCWR is to provide tools that promote financial literacy and help identify and prevent financial exploitation. The Grantee will be responsible for developing targeted outreach strategies, developing partnerships and collaborations, and providing technical assistance to State agencies and other public and non-profit organizations. The Grantee will also disseminate a summary of outreach activities annually including user-friendly consumer information and public educational materials.

ACL intends to award funds for the establishment of one (1) center for independent living in American Samoa to provide, expand and improve the provision of independent living services and support the network of centers for independent living. At a minimum, centers funded are required to provide the following core services: information and referral; independent living skills training; peer counseling; individual and systems advocacy; and services that facilitate transition from nursing homes and other institutions to the community, assistance to those at risk of entering institutions and facilitate the transition of youth to postsecondary life. The estimated total funding amount to be awarded to establish a center for independent living in American Samoa is $159,762. Twenty-four-month project period with two 12-month budget periods.

The purpose of this funding announcement is to demonstrate and evaluate the scalability of person-centered and evidence-based approaches to falls prevention that leverage clinical and community partnerships and related data and technology tools. ACL intends to award a single cooperative agreement to one grantee for a three-year project period with the expectation that the grantee will fund up to three demonstrations. This award will build on the ACL Innovation Lab to demonstrate the scaling of person-centered and evidence-based approaches to falls prevention and related chronic disease management programs through community care hubs and their respective clinical partners and community-based organizations in the aging services network. The successful applicant will be expected to collaborate with ACL in the design and implementation of these demonstrations in the scalability of falls prevention and related chronic disease management interventions through approximately three advanced community care hubs that support care transitions and screening for the risk of falls. They should also have the capacity to 1) do rapid cycle evaluation to iterate and improve the impact of the interventions as they are scaled and, 2) administer sub-awards to community care hubs that can implement and scale person-centered interventions enabled by artificial intelligence, data analytics, assistive technology, virtual delivery of interventions, tools to support consumer behaviors, and related data infrastructure.

The primary goal of the Native American Resource Center (NARC) will be to enhance the knowledge about older adults in American Indian, Alaskan Native, and Native Hawaiin (AI/AN/NH), community, thereby increase and improve the delivery of services to elders. The NARC will focus on the development and provision of technical information. The NARC's will have a national focus and direct its resource to one or more of the primary concerns in their application which includes health issues, long term care, including in-home care; elder abuse; and other problems and issues facing AI, AN and NH older populations. The NARC's objective will be to 1) gather information, 2) performance research, and 3) provide dissemination of results of research and provide technical assistance and training, to entities that provide services to the targeted older adult population in the AI, AN, and NH communities. Applicants should include anticipated program outcomes, how the outcomes will be measured, and the overall success of the program/activities and how they will be determined.
